Experience an engaging professional development opportunity with our Social Emotional Education Collabsite on Wednesday, November 5. Registration is $275 per attendee for this one day event.
Designed for educators teaching pre-kindergarten to grade 12, this workshop emphasizes a deep conceptual understanding of infusing social emotional education into all aspects of teaching and learning. Participants will explore effective teaching strategies to harness the powerful impact of emotions on the learning process to foster academic resilience and social emotional fluency in students. Through interactive sessions and opportunities to observe infused instructional strategies at all developmental levels, participants will dive deep into the science behind emotional intelligence and its critical role in student engagement and achievement. Working with Pine Crest neXt's social emotional experts, participants will engage in discussion focused on application or principles, planning for strategic implementation and develop actionable strategies.
Pre-Meeting
Pine Crest neXt will provide an introduction and overview of the session's goals and objectives and Pine Crest School’s Social Emotional Education Program. There will be a briefing on the classroom to be observed, including context and focus areas (e.g., lesson objectives, instructional strategies, etc.). We will Identify observable cues in classrooms that evidence the integration of social emotional practices.
Classroom Observation
Participants will observe a live classroom session, focusing on specific elements such as student engagement, instructional methods, classroom management and resource use. Participants will be able to observe specific skills in each school division: lower school, middle school and upper school. Observations are non-intrusive, allowing teachers to maintain their everyday routines and for participants to see authentic experiences.
Debriefing and Reflection
After the observation, participants will reconvene to discuss their observations and reflections. Facilitated discussion on what was observed, including specific skills related to social emotional education Sharing best practices and strategies that can be applied in participants' classrooms.
Breakout Sessions
Break-out into small groups to address specific focuses that are relevant to the school environment. Work with neXt experts to learn best practices on specific skills or lessons learned from implementation Participants will develop actionable plans based on their observations and reflections - setting personal and professional goals to implement new strategies and techniques in their teaching practices.
Follow-Up
Schedule a follow-up session to review progress, share experiences and provide additional support. This allows for the continuation of professional dialogue to foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
